Since October is National Down Syndrome Awareness month I created this video, Extra C, about my son and posted it at YouTube. I'm hoping to raise awareness about Down syndrome and to maybe change a few attitudes. Please, feel free to pass it on to your family and friends.
And, if you're interested, you can visit my blog and enter my contest to win a copy of my book.
I hope you enjoy the video.
What a wonderful tribute for your son. It seems this needs to be shown to a lot more people. I recently remembered one of my favorite television series: "Life Goes On." I hope your family will continue to lovingly go on in happiness and togetherness.

Yes, I'm trying to send it to as many people as I know. The more people see it, maybe the more it will help to change an attitude here and there.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Margaret.
Beautifully done. Makes me almost want to have a child like that, but at my age . . . . well, I'll just applaud you -- both for having such a sweet child, and for working to make it easier for him. Actually, I suppose we all have disabilities of some kind or other, for which we have to compensate, so why do we not accept and love those who differ from us? It rather amazes me of how we like to put labels on everyting. Sometimes, I think we 'have to be carefully taught' (from South Pacific) to know how to discriminate wrongly.
ReplyDeleteMy mind is now clamoring for sleep, but I just wanted to say 'thanks'.
