Today my time is limited by an incoming thunderstorm (I turn off the computer to keep it from being fried by lightning), so I am going to refer you to two recent General Conference talks from leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
The first was given by President Thomas S. Monson, the president of the church, on April 5, 2008. Examples of Righteousness.
The second talk was given the same day by President Dieter F. Uchtdorf, the second counselor to the president. A Matter of a Few Degrees.
I want to relate these talks to writing by reminding all writers that we are responsible for our words and should keep in mind the examples we set for others. We also need to strive to hold a correct course in our writing life that will help us achieve our goals.

Thanks for reminding us yet again Marsha that our writing talents are gifts from Heavenly Father that we have stewardship over to do to the best of ability (and at times a bit of His thrown in for good measure). Hope the thunderstorms left you safe and sound. We are having residual effects of Fay right now. So far, everything is ok.
ReplyDeleteYou're still great and amazing in my book, Marsha. Added proof is that you go ahead and blog when you don't really have the leisure--which I can hardly imagine you have even if ANWA were not your only concern.
ReplyDeleteAnd about a Christopher Creek thunder storm, how should I picture you? Do you sit on the porch and watch the storm develop, or hide somewhere away from windows? Do you cower or glory when an especially loud and 'thunderous' thundercap almost splits your eardrums? Just idly wondering.
