Daily Scripture: “Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an Ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.” Ephesians 6: 19-20
Personal Mission Statement: To create uplifting stories that affirm biblical principles and to proclaim that Jesus Christ is the answer to all of our needs and righteous desires.
Dear friends,
This is my first experience at blogging. I hope we can get to know each other and grow in friendship and wisdom. So sorry I'm late in posting. I even stated up until midnight to post! Oh, the fun of old age!
My name is Debbie Reeves and I live in the beautiful Columbia River Gorge in the Pacific Northwest. I feel blessed every time I step out my front door and see the beauty Heavenly Father created for us to enjoy. Out my back door there is a peaceful pasture lined with tall, uncut conifers. If I’m quiet enough, I can spot a deer or a coyote hunting for field mice (or my cat!).
I live here with my husband of thirty-three years and two of our four sons. I’m fifty-one (yikes!) years old and have many interests. I love to collect vintage toys from the sixties: Chatty Cathy (and her family) dolls, vintage children’s books, trolls, and Sally, Dick and Jane readers. I also have two vintage Thumbelina dolls and a Patty PlayPal. I have a collection of handmade rag dolls also. My oldest doll is an 1864 China head doll.
However, my greatest interest is writing. In fact, it’s my passion! I’m not a published writer yet, but I have faith I will be one day. When I ran across ANWA, I felt truly blessed to find wonderful sisters to guide and nurture me on my journey. It is awe-inspiring to be among such talented ladies! My genre (or sub-genre, actually) is Inspirational Romance (historical). I’ve written three, but only one is currently looking for a home. I also have a children’s fairy tale and a craft (tole) book I’m hawking. *U*
I hope you will visit our blog often. We will inspire and uplift you, I promise. Please join in and feel free to comment.
Blessings to all of you,
Debbie *U* (<-- is my ear-to-ear grin!)
Hi Debbie!
ReplyDeleteLove the scripture and the personal mission statement! Thanks!
Kari Diane
I can't wait to get to know you too! I, too, loved the scripture quotes you started with. I envy your getting to live in such beautiful country. While the desert has its beauty...it sure gets hot here. I hope you will share parts of your novels with us.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you liked the scripture and mission statement, Kari and Betsy. I wanted to start off with a positive note.*U*
ReplyDeleteMaybe I'll share parts of my novels sometime, Betsy, if I don't bore everyone to death. LOL~
Thank you both for the comments!
Debbie, as many timrs as I've read the scriptures, I hadn't singled out this. Thanks. So a pro po (can't find italics)
ReplyDeleteI grew up on the Snake River, across the mountains from and much less spectacular than Jackson Hole. What little traveling I have done shows me a beautiful world, an awesome heritage from a loving Creator.
I hope every one of us will gain--or keep--the ability to express this heart-felt love.
Good "luck" with (I still like) "Lakota Moon" and all the rest.
Happy writing!
Anna
Debbie, knowing the trials you've survived in the last few years, I so admire your mission statement, and the strength you have developed with which to declare it.
