By small and simple things are great things brought to pass. (D&C 64:33) Someone shared their virus with me and now I sound like Darth Vader when I breathe, and cough when I try to talk. My body has turned into a phlegm factory. I know I am not alone in my suffering, each year millions of us succumb to the cold or flu. Work days lost and medicine sold is phenomenal. These infinitesimal germs invade our bodies, wage war and win. It made me think of the Wizards’ duel between Merlin and Mim in The Sword in the Stone where after a spectacular bit of shape changing Merlin wins by turning himself into a germ and giving Mim a disease. We need to be the disease (but in a good way) in our lives: persistent, outwitting our opponent, and despite large disadvantages in and size and power, win anyway.
I never thought to be as ambitious and tenacious as a germ, but now I will. One of those funny but true posts Susan.
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better soon, my kids all had it this week and it's a brutal one!
ReplyDeleteI appreciate your comments. Terri this is the weird way my mind works epecially on cold meds. Kristin it is a brutal virus. I cannot immagine having a couple kids both down with it at once.
